Project overview

The ASD Last-Mile Driver App was built to support drivers during delivery runs and improve communication between planning and execution. Where drivers previously depended on paper routes and frequent phone calls, the app provides a clearer mobile workflow in one place.

The application is connected to the planning module of ASD’s logistics platform and focuses on three main goals: better route clarity, easier on-site delivery handling, and stronger traceability when damage, exceptions, or other delivery issues need to be recorded.

Collaboration

The app is being developed in close coordination with ASD and is currently in beta testing with a small group of drivers and routes. That setup makes it possible to validate the user flow in real conditions and improve it step by step based on practical feedback.

Technical implementation

  • Flutter cross-platform mobile application.
  • Laravel API backend shared with the logistics platform.
  • Connected to the planner module of the ASD logistics platform.
  • Real-time status updates between driver and planning.

Challenges

  • Designing a flow that is clear, fast, and easy to use for drivers on the road.
  • Making on-site delivery handling simpler without creating extra administrative friction.
  • Providing enough traceability for both ASD and its clients when damage, exceptions, or other issues occur.

Result

Although the app is still in beta, the first testing phase already shows where the value sits: drivers get a clearer overview of their routes, deliveries can be handled more consistently on site, and issue registration becomes much more transparent.

That makes the app a logical next step on top of the ASD logistics platform, aimed at reducing disconnected communication, reducing dependence on paper, and creating a stronger last-mile workflow.

Reflection

This project highlights that a logistics app does not only need to work technically. It also has to feel clear and practical for the person using it while moving. That combination of simplicity, speed, and traceability is what makes this kind of solution valuable.
